Delta adds more non-stop routes to Seattle

Delta is beefing up it's Seattle operations, making it the fastest-growing airline in Seattle. Delta has announced 27 new flights, 3 of which are international. According to Mike Medeiros, Delta's VP in Seattle, "the Pacific Northwest economy is one of the fastest-growing in the U.S., and a big part of why we're adding domestic flights in support of our growing global gateway in Seattle. By next summer, we'll offer more than 2,500 daily international seats as part of our 79 peakday departures to 25 destinations."

The Delta expansion in Seattle has increased tension between Seattle-based Alaska Airlines and Delta. Both airlines are offering double-mile promotions on many flights originating in Seattle.

The increased competition between Alaska Air and Delta will hopefully result in more competitive fares for consumers.
