Have a craving for a burger? Try this delicious turkey burger recipe! Heat up that grill or make them on the griddle, you will experience a wonderfully different taste from your regular burgers – and you will love it! As you bite into this masterpiece, you will find that the melted cheese and the jalapenos combine for a memorable taste.

Equal in protein with a lot less fat and cholesterol, ground turkey is a great alternative to ground beef. In these days of looking for healthier options, don’t overlook this one. You will be pleased with the results.

Turkey burgers are a little more delicate than beef burgers. When cooking turkey burgers, try to flip them over only once instead of flipping them from one side to another multiple times. Also, make sure that you don’t press down on them while they are cooking. Some feel that you shouldn’t salt turkey burgers on the outside, as it will draw out the moisture. The egg in this recipe will help hold the moisture in, however, so it would be a personal preference.

Jalapeno-stuffed Turkey Burger Recipe

Ingredients for making Jalapeno-stuffed Turkey Burgers:

  • 1 ½ pound ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced onion
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • Cheese, shredded (cheddar or co jack work well)
  • Jalapenos, chopped
  • Hamburger buns

Directions for making Jalapeno-stuffed Turkey Burgers:

Mix together well the ground turkey, egg, Worcestershire sauce, minced onion, garlic powder, and pepper.

Form very thin patties of the turkey mixture. Place a few of the chopped jalapenos and a bit of the cheese in the middle of half of the patties and place the other patties on top of each – sandwiching them together with the jalapenos and cheese inside by pinching the edges for a good seal. Grill 4 minutes on each side over medium high heat. Serve them on a toasted hamburger bun with ketchup, mustard or your other favorite condiments.
