Delicious Dog Treat Recipe: Banana Peanut Butter "Pup"sicles

Making your own treats at home is a great way to control exactly what your dog is eating. Many recipes for homemade treats call for simple, natural ingredients that are both super tasty and good for your fur child. Despite the cold outside, this recipe for banana peanut butter "pup"sicles is one your dog will absolutely love. If you prefer to serve something less frosty in the winter, keep this recipe on hand for those hot summer months.

Banana Peanut Butter "Pup"sicles

  • 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1 4-ounce jar of banana baby food
  • 3 6-ounce containers of plain yogurt (full or low fat)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Small Dixie cups
  • Bone-shaped treats (such as Milk Bones)

Combine the peanut butter, yogurt, banana baby food and honey in a mixing bowl and stir well. Divide the mixture into small Dixie cups, which are great for freezing individually sized portions. Stick a Milk Bone, or a treat of a similar size and shape, into each Dixie cup - this will function as an adorable, edible handle for the "pup"sicles. Freeze the treats until solid and remove the paper cup before serving to your pet. For less mess, let your dog eat this treat outside, or on a piece of newspaper or old towel.
