Delectable and delightful black cat Halloween cake is always a big hit with children in Spokane. This popular cake is easy to make, festive, fun and of course scrumptious. It only takes half an hour to make and will serve sixteen. Make sure you give it an hour an a half to cool so it won’t crumble and lose its catly shape.
To make this cute cake you will need a chocolate cake mix and water, vegetable oil frosting mix, and eggs called for on cake mix box
When the cake is cooled down, it’s time to make the feline’s face.
Heat your oven to 350°F or 325°F for dark or nonstick pans. Make and cool cake as instructed on box for two 8-inch or 9-inch round pans. Cut t tail and ear shapes from one layer.
Cut cake, assemble and frost top and sides of cake pieces with frosting. Use large yellow or green gumdrop slices for eyes, black gumdrop for nose and cherry or strawberry string licorice for whiskers, eyelashes, and front paws.
If you plan on having a large Halloween party with lots and lots of kids, you should at least two cakes. You don’t want to leave anyone out.
