The default view of a pictures folder in Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services (WSS) makes it challenging to remove photos you no longer want.
To accomplish this task, the first thing you can try is to click on View (top right) and choose Explorer View. This should open the files in Windows Explorer and allow you to delete items that you don't want.
If the Explorer View option isn't available or doesn't work for you, you can create a new view that'll also let you delete items.
Click View, Create View. Select Standard View.
On the next screen, give your view a name and select whether it should be a public view (visible to everyone) or a private view (visible only to you). You won't have the public option if you don't have owner/administrator Sharepoint permissions.
In the columns area, make sure to check the option for Name (linked to document with edit menu).
Toward the bottom, click the plus sign to expand Style, and choose Basic Table. Then, click OK to accept your options.
To see this new view in the future, select it from the View drop down menu. Then, you can mouse over each item's name for an arrow and drop down menu, which includes a Delete option.
