For gourmets and food lovers, March is roaring in like a lion. On Tuesday, February 28, Rumson Mayor John E.Ekdahl will announce that March is Rumson Restaurant Month, a culinary celebration in its fourth year. New to Rumson’s restaurant scene is Ristorante Giorgia, Rumson’s only BYO, which offers authentic Italian fare in a charming, elegant setting. Murray MacGregor’s has new owners Kathy and Mike Maguire who will be announcing a new name, as well as changes to the restaurant.
Participating restaurants include: Barnacle Bill’s, David Burke Fromagerie, Murray MacGregor’s Publick House, Ristorante Giorgia, Salt Creek Grille, Undici and Val’s Tavern and Restaurant. Special dining deals include prix fixe menus, nightly specials, specially priced dishes, drink specials, St. Patrick’s Day fun, live music and more. Food for Thought is a Food Festival presented by The New Jersey Center for the Book and the Monmouth County Library on Sunday, March 4 from 12:30 p.m.at Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan.

Renowned Chef David Burke, David Burke Fromagerie, Rumson, will be keynote speaker and presenters will represent Jon Bon Jovi’s Soul Kitchen, Next Generation and Kiwi Magazine. Tuesday, March 6, Red Bank Flavour is kicking off a Dine Downtown prix fixe dining event, Red Bank Flavour Fixe. Restaurant patrons will enjoy a three-course prix fixe dinner every Tuesday and Wednesday evening throughout March. More than 20 Red Bank restaurants will participate and offer a $15, $25 or $30 menu. With a selection of appetizer, entrée and dessert, guests will have the opportunity to sample an array of eclectic cuisine from Red Bank’s favorite dining establishments throughout the month.

On Sunday, March 11, the 4th Annual Belmar Restaurant Tour will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., sponsored by the Belmar Tourism Commission. More than 25 restaurants and food vendors will be participating including: Brandl, Federico’s, Jimmy’s Place, Klein’s Fish Market & Waterside Café, Matisse, Nicchio’s Ristorante, Ragin’ Cajun and Tulipano.
