Deland residents injured in Lake County accident Friday

Three Deland residents were injured in an accident in Lake County Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says all three were in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center Friday, after the accident at around 4:30 p.m. Troopers say a car driven by 22-year old Juan Luevano Junior “…pulled into the direct path…” of a semi at County Road 44A and Forestdel Road. The FHP says the semi driver tried to avoid the accident, but the front of the car hit the left side of the semi. The two passengers in the car were 43-year old Juan Luevano and 44-year old James Blacker. The driver of the semi was from Umatila and was not injured. The FHP says the accident investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
