Del Ray Artisans: Big weekends ahead (Photos)

I asked Del Ray Artisans for an update on upcoming events, and they provided a robust response about weekend activities.

A demonstration of "quilt power" leads the list for tomorrow, Saturday March 9, 2013. This show is a part of a nationwide touring exhibition that began in 2010. Quiltmaking in Alexandria just seems right, don’t you think? Quilter, Cyndi Souder and fiber artist, Judy Gula are local participants.

My plan this upcoming month is to begin to profile Del Ray Artisans as each artists have their own stories that a rich in experience with a plethora of art to back it up.

“What does “Power Suit” mean to you? Does it conjure images of smoke-filled rooms where deals are made? Is a Power Suit a garment or a person? What would you do if you were a Power Suit? Do you plug in a Power Suit? What if a Power Suit gave you Super Powers?

Using Power Suit as your inspiration, create an art quilt that expresses your point of view.”
