Del Mar man accused of raping woman he met online

A Del Mar man was recently taken into custody, this on allegations that he raped a woman he had met on a well-known dating site.

According to a 10News report, Sean Banks, 37, was booked on investigation of rape and residential burglary. He had reportedly met the alleged victim on the popular singles site ChristianMingle.com.

Authorities claim that Banks, who pleaded not guilty, assaulted the unidentified woman last October in her La Mesa residence, this after the two had been chatting online.

Police and prosecutors are looking into whether or not Banks may have attacked other females he met via the site and other dating sites, this by possibly using false names, including Rylan Butterwood and Rylan Harbough.

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Banks or other possible victims to contact the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-7538.

So, have you ever had a bad experience on an online singles site?
