DeKalb Students auditioning for teen TV show: The Bridge

Some DeKalb County students are looking to become the next group of teen faces appearing on a district-wide television program. PDSTV-24 is hosting auditions for the school system’s successful teen series, The Bridge.

Show auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, September 3 with a registration deadline of September 1. The Bridge is among DeKalb programming seen on the district’s PDSTV-24, an educational access channel operated by the school system.

This will be the second season for the teen program which is formatted like a morning show. The Bridge features content produced and written by DeKalb teenagers for students from middle school to college age. The content includes fun, education and entertainment touching a wide range of topics like: videos, games, trends and fashion, to financial budgeting, social issues, academics, careers and college topics.

The Bridge also showcases DeKalb’s student talent by featuring singing, rapping, spoken word, dance including styles like ballet and modern.

The Bridge is connecting student to pathways for success through interviews with community leaders, students sharing their own life experiences, and breaking down facts on researched topics of interest. The show is also opening the door to better teen-parent communication, by covering topics in a way both parents and teen can relate.
