This is a great fund raiser for a local shelter that desperately needs funds. The Dekalb County Shelter is always full and there are always more animals being dropped off. Even if you do not want to participate in the fund raiser, check out the website and donate if you can or maybe even pop in and volunteer. "DeKalb Humane Society is planning a fund raiser unlike any other in the area so far! We are selling raffle tickets for your choice of one of four trips, ranging in price from $5,076 to $9,086, with round trip airfare by American Airlines for all.
For $75, you will receive one ticket, and entrance to our “Tasting” event for two, where the winning ticket will be drawn. Extra tickets will be available for $50 each or 5 for $200, but will not include entrance to the event. There will be wine, coffee and teas, plus at least 16 caterers and restaurants, all providing samples of their specialties at this event.
The event will be on Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 6-8 pm at the Hoosier Air Museum in Auburn. Only a maximum of 125 $75 tickets will be sold. Additional tickets can also be “won” at the event.
