Military officers say, Isaac Aguigui, 21, killed his wife, Sgt. Deirdre Aguigui, 24, on July 17, 2011. The pregnant army wife was found dead in the couple's apartment. A medical examination indicates that Deirdre Alice Aguigui aka Deirdre Alice Wetzker was handcuffed and choked to death. An autopsy report confirmed that the victim sustained head injuries consistent with a beating.
Police say the Fort Worth soldier killed his wife to receive insurance money to buy weapons for his militia group. The anti-government organizer received $500,000 in insurance money. According to Headlines & Global News, the man also had plans to spend the money with his ex-girlfriend.
Authorities were led to the killer after a concerned family member notified police that Aguigui had purchase firearms while on leave, according to the McClatchy-Tribune Regional News.
Isaac Aguigui is also accused of killing two other people who were about to blow the whistle on his anti-government affiliations.
