TMZ reported on March 12 that Deion Sanders was granted sole custody of his two young boys.
The 45-year-old NFL Hall-of-Famer joins a small circle of celebrity men who have won custody of their children.
It used to be women who were almost always guaranteed to be granted custody of their children in a divorce settlement. However, that is not the case any longer.

Sanders was granted sole custody of 11 and 13-year-old sons, while he will share custody of their 9-year-old daughter with Pilar Sanders. It was reported that 11 of 12 jurors ruled in favor of the NFL Hall of Famer receiving custody of the children.
After the verdict, Sanders gave glory to God on his Twitter account:
"Thank all of you whom prayed for me and my children. The Truth is what it is," he tweeted. "Never doubt God! Truth."
Pilar's representative says she is planning to appeal the jury's decision. The representative also said:
"Pilar didn't lose today, the children are the ones who did. She has, is and will always be a good mother."
It has been almost a year ago when last April a domestic altercation took place at the former couple's $5.7 million home where each alleged that they were attacked by the other. However, a judge ruled that Deion was only defending himself against Pilar's assault.
