When tough times happen, how do you cope?

In her book, Thriving Through Tough Times, Dr. Deidre Combs offers eight techniques that can help overcome difficulties. Combs has two decades of consulting experience and uses what she's gathered from her cross-cultural research, conflict resolution and grief practices to provide practical lessons for managing tough times.

Combs advises that timing is important, and uses the concept of four seasons to illustrate the appropriate time for her coping techniques.

Dr. Combs is a core instructor in Montana State University’s Leadership Fellows Certificate Program. She's the author of two other books on cross-cultural approaches to resolving conflict and overcoming challenges: The Way of Conflict and Worst Enemy, Best Teacher, which integrate practices from a variety of cultural traditions with systems theory and brain research.

Combs will be at the Country Bookshelf in Bozeman on January 24 at 7 pm.
