Shawn David Ball, of 206 McCaskill Drive in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. was arrested earlier this week and faces felony animal charges for beating a cat to death with his hands.
According to the Dothaneagle.com, authorities acting on a probable cause affidavit investigated Ball's home and found the body of a cat named Pablo lying dead in a litter box. The cat had multiple bruises, broken ribs, and hemorrhages. Upon further investigation, Walton County Sheriff's deputies found cat hair and blood on the bed sheets inside the home.
On a Facebook group titled Animal Justice Rally Group, whose vision is to be the voice for the victims and to rally on behalf of the animals and the seriousness of abuse, Pablo had suffered even more egregious torture. From Walton County Sheriff, Michael A. Adkinson, according to a statement released on Sept.18 revealed:
"Ball also burned Pablo’s face, leaving his right ear deformed, as well as the body and genitals with an unknown heat source."
For years, experts have continued to make the correlation between animal abuse and crimes towards humans.
If found guilty of this heinous crime, let's hope he is punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Rest in peace Pablo.
