The Cincinnati Bengals added Adam Zimmer to their coaching staff today. He is the son of Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Mike Zimmer has been with the Bengals since 2008.
The younger Zimmer will work as an assistant defensive backs coach with defensive backs coach Mark Carrier.
Adam Zimmer has seven years of experience as an NFL coach. He previously coached for the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs. Adam Zimmer lost his job with the Chiefs after the team gave Head Coach Romeo Crennel the axe.
While with the Saints from 2006-2009, he was a member of the New Orleans Saints team that defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the 2009 Super Bowl.
Zimmer also played defensive back at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
The younger Zimmer has practically grown up on the NFL sidelines. As a child, he spent time carrying his father’s headset around on the sidelines.
