Deer Tick returned to the stage for the first time in two years as their alter-ego Deervana, to cover Nirvana's final album In Utero in it's entirety.
Deer Tick frontman John McCauley wore a flannel, ripped jeans, and Chuck Taylors to better channel the grunge-god Kurt Cobain, as the band tore through a tight, 46-minute set Friday night at NYC's Brooklyn Bowl. After years of practice, Deervana sounded just like Seattle's finest.
Luckily for those that missed the show, the nice people at NYC Taper recorded the whole concert and are offering it as a free download in both mp3 and FLAC formats. Head over to nyctaper.com to download the show.
The original In Utero is scheduled to arrive in stores September 24th as a "Super Deluxe" box set that includes more than 40 tracks of unreleased demos, B-sides, rehearsals, live performances and the never-before-heard instrumental song, coincidentally titled "Forgotten Tune."
Deer Tick will be releasing their new album, Negativity, on September 24th.
