Deep Silver announced via press release today that they have acquired the rights to 'the NASCAR series from Activision and the newest addition in the series, "NASCAR 14" will be released on the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 in North America early next year.
The game will be developed by Eutechnyx and will feature a comprehensive career mode as well as official teams and tracks as well as leagues and Online Multiplayer. Another mode "NASCAR Highlights," will simulate the current season, using exact weather and car conditions and allow gamers to participate in the same settings as the real-life drivers.
“NASCAR is a hugely popular sport, second only to the NFL in TV ratings with licensed games having been published by Activision in recent years. Deep Silver is thrilled to have acquired the publishing rights to 'NASCAR ’14' and looks forward to cultivating a long-term relationship with both the fans and the franchise,” Deep Silver Inc. COO, Geoff Mulligan said in today's press release.
Deep Silver also announced that they will have a cover athlete contest, "Drive for the Cover," where fans can vote for who gets to be the signature athlete in this year's game.
