Deep Purple cancel Canadian tour date

Deep Purple have cancelled an upcoming date from their upcoming cross-Canada tour.

According to an article posted today (1/15/12) at Bravewords.com, the legendary British hard rockers, who recently announced the 16-city Canadian "Smoke on the Nation" tour, have pulled the plug on their February 3rd (2/3/12) appearance at the Pepsi Centre in Corner Brook, NFLD.

Although no reasons were provided from either promoter, Paul Mercs Concerts, or from officials at the Pepsi Centre, slow advance ticket sales are suspected to be behind the cancellation.

Ticketholders can obtain a refund at the Pepsi Centre box office, or point of purchase.

All other dates on the upcoming tour, including Deep Purple's kick off date in St John's, NFLD at Mile One Centre on Feb 2 (2/2/12), will go on as scheduled.

Other dates on the tour include: Feb. 5 Halifax | Metro Centre, Feb. 6 | Moncton | Centre, Feb. 8 | Ottawa | Civic Centre Theatre, Feb. 9 | Kingston | K-Rock Centre, Feb. 11 | London | John Labatt Centre, Feb. 12 | Toronto | Massey Hall, Feb. 13 | Hamilton | Hamilton Place, Feb. 15 | Winnipeg | MTS Centre, Feb. 16 | Regina | Brandt Centre, Feb. 17 | Saskatoon | TCU Place, Feb. 19 | Calgary | Jubilee Auditorium, Feb. 21 | Edmonton | Rexall Place, and Feb. 23 | Prince George and CN Centre | Vancouver, BC |  Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Feb 26.
