We’ve all experienced pizza guilt. Even when we have good reasons for resorting to delivery or take-out, the simple truth is that ordering a pizza never feels good after the fact. The fat, the sodium, the calories (not to mention the cost) seem to always lead to a big case of regret once the greasy cardboard box is empty.
And what about your family? Kids probably won’t feel guilty about chowing down on some fast food, but their energy levels will change. No one feels particularly peppy after such a fatty feast, leading to more couch time than play time.
Making your own pizza-style deep-dish casserole is the perfect solution, and it doesn’t have to be a lot of trouble. Refrigerated bread dough and a couple of simple ingredients are all it takes. You can customize the toppings to your own family’s taste, or keep it simple and follow the recipe precisely.
