This morning, publisher 505 Games announced their partnership with Russian developers Biart Studio to bring Deep Black to the PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to the press release, the game will offer "action-packed battles with an immersive story line of complex science-fiction mystery, espionage and bio-terror."

It appears players can expect all kinds of underwater gadgetry, including specialized jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high tech equipment. The majority of the game takes place below the surface, so this could add a unique layer of challenge to the fighting and puzzle aspects of Deep Black.

Deep Black is scheduled to release Q1 of 2011. In the meantime, we have the unexplained urge to watch The Abyss.

No price point has been announced, but we do have confirmation from 505 Games that it will be a full retail release.
