Annie Sloan, British decorative paint expert, author of numerous paint technique books and creator of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, will be holding a one-day workshop in Chicago on Saturday, March 24 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort as part of her eight city tour of America.
Sloan, who is considered a ‘rock star’ by her numerous U.S. fans, will be leading the one-day demonstration and overseeing hands-on group sessions. It’s the perfect event for people who love DIY projects, such as furniture makeovers, and are interested in learning new techniques – on furniture, accessories, kitchen cabinets, walls, floors – anything that can be painted. Seats are limited. One-day workshop tickets are $350, include all materials, refreshments, and lunch. For full information and to purchase online, go to: www.anniesloanunfolded.com.
The event will feature a demonstration by Sloan, book signings (her most recent, highly rated books, Creating the French Look and Quick and Easy Paint Transformations are both out in paperback here in the U.S.), and hands-on technique sessions in small groups. Led by local, trained stockists of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and SoftWax, group sessions will teach the myriad techniques and effects that are so easy and fun to create. Sloan will spend time with individuals in each break-out group to offer advice and recommendations. Attendees will end the day with a book signing and social hour with Sloan.
A percentage of the workshops’ proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research, and to coincide with this initiative, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is introducing a new color for the USA: ‘Antoinette’ – a soft pale pink.
