Decorate for Christmas with clear ornaments

Take the expensive of Christmas decorating out of the equation with homemade Christmas decorations. You don't have to have any artistic skill to create unique decorations using a few supplies and several clear ornaments. Not only will your home look festive with these quick decorations, but they make great gifts, too!

Decorate the fireplace mantel, Christmas tree, wrapped garland, or other items with any of these pretty clear ornament decorations. Try hanging them from satin ribbons from the ceiling, or in front of a large window.

Here are 4 homemade Christmas decorations you can make in just a few minutes.

Confetti filled ornament:

- Clear glass ornament

- Christmas themed confetti

- Wire ribbon

- Florist wire

- Hot glue gun

Fill the clear glass ornament about ¾ full with Christmas themed confetti. Then, select a ribbon pattern with the same theme. Make three large loops with the wire ribbon, leaving small tails on the ends. Pinch the center of the ribbons and tie with wire to secure. Glue the bow in place at the top of the ornament.

Snow filled ornament

- Clear glass ornament

- Bath salts

- Wire ribbon

- Florist wire

- Hot glue gun

Making a snow filled ornament is EASY! Fill the clear glass ornament about ¾ full with white colored bath salts. Then, make three large loops with the wire ribbon, leaving a small tails. Pinch the center of the ribbons and tie with wire. Glue the bow in place a the top of the ornament.

Stenciled Christmas ornament

- Clear glass ornament

- Artificial spray snow (snow in a can)

- Small Christmas stencil

- Newspaper

This is a so simple to make, the children can do it themselves. Find a small Christmas stencil that appeals to you (available at craft and hobby stores) and tape it in place on the clear glass ornament. Use newspaper to protect the area around the stencil. Spray the artificial spray snow on the stencil and allow to dry completely before removing the stencil. When you lift up the stencil, you'll have a perfect image adhered to the glass ornament.

Shimmering bauble ornament

- Clear glass ornament

- Glitter paint pens (two colors)

- Wire ribbon

- Florist wire

- Small Christmas bells, holly, or other accent pieces

- Hot glue gun

The finished shimmering bauble ornament is stunning. Begin by adding small dots to the clear glass ornament using glitter paint pens. Allow the paint to dry completely. Pick the pattern or color of your wire ribbon to match the color or glitter paint pens. For example, if you've used red and gold paint, a beautiful red damask ribbon would look gorgeous atop the ornament. Take the wire ribbon and make three to six large loops and pinch the ribbon at the center. Use the florist wire to small Christmas bells, holly, or other festive accent pieces to the front of the ornament.

You can also decorate your home with these pretty ornaments by etching them with etching fluid, filling them with sparkling basket fill or berries, or by personalizing them with family member names and the year.
