As an independent marketing consultant, I come across new startups and entrepreneurs all the time. They're constantly sharing their ideas and ventures with me. What's stood out to me time and again is the difficulty for many tech entrepreneurs to find the right technology for their software.
Often times an entrepreneur will have a great idea but lack the technical ability to realize that idea. When this happens, they're usually forced to shell out significant amounts of money for coding or programming, or they have to give up a significant amount of ownership in order to bring on a venture capital group or angel investor.
So, when I head about Decisions new program, I knew I had to share it. Decisions is a workflow software company. They create provide a software engine to enterprise clients to help them solve workflow and business rules issues. They also allow software developers to utilize their engine to create their own software products.
And this is the program that has me impressed. Decisions has recently announced that developers can utilize the basic form of their workflow engine to for free! This is huge for a struggling entrepreneur who is trying to bring their product to market. Not only does it remove one of the largest hurdles in their way, but it also gives them the abilities of a very powerful workflow software engine.
Workflow software and business rules engines help other software make the right decisions and improve workflow. To put it another way, let's say that you have an applicant tracking system or CRM. This software needs to take a ton of raw data and put it into an easily digestible display that tells the user exactly what they need. T
o get there, the software has to make a series of decisions. The software may need to remove all applicants that have changed jobs in the last 3 months. It may also need to remove anyone that makes over $60,000 per year. The Decisions engine makes these processes happen quickly and easily.
When you really boil down the software that's on the market; there are very few that couldn't benefit from a robust workflow engine like this.
So, my hope is that entrepreneurs are able to utilize this program and this technology to bring those incubating ideas to market. The opportunity that is being provided is phenomenal and shouldn't be ignored.
