December 9: The Gasworks hosts As Blood Runs Black and guests

On December 9, Albuquerque’s The Gasworks, in conjunction with Joe Angel Productions, hosts As Blood Runs Black, Eat a Helicopter, A Malicious Plague, Aura, Defleshment, I am the Martyr, and Bear: The Nightmare. Doors for this all-ages event open at 6 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. Entry is $10 (presale) or $12 (at the door).

California’s As Blood Runs Black play deathcore. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Instinct. New CD titled Ground Zero out soon.

Formed in 2006, Albuquerque’s Eat a Helicopter play experimental death metal and hardcore. The band’s debut EP is titled The Pessimist. Eat a Helicopter’s new full-length studio CD is titled Evolution of Violence.

Formed in 2011, Gallup’s A Malicious Plague play melodic and technical death metal.

Hailing from the Laguna Pueblo, Defleshment play brutal death metal. The band cites as influences Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, and Left to Rot.

Los Lunas’ I am the Martyr play progressive metalcore.

Hailing from Los Lunas, Bear: The Nightmare play ambient screamo with a dash of metal. The band plans to release an EP titled No Reason in the near future.

The Gasworks is located at 2429 Quincy St NE. A 2,000-square-foot warehouse, The Gasworks is an all-ages venue. The venue’s goal is to keep the underground scene alive. If you are interested in booking at The Gasworks, please email Jake at gasworksnm@gmail.com.
