On December 2, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad hosts Huntress, Carrion Kind. The Conjuring, and Death Rides a Horse. Doors for this 21+ show are scheduled to open at 8 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 9:30 p.m. Entry is $8 but is subject to change at the door.
California’s Huntress play heavy metal. The band thrives “on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips.” Huntress’ latest full-length studio CD is titled Starbound Beast.
Hailing from Santa Fe, Carrion Kind play “metal with no boundaries, a mix of metal genres ranging from prog to straight-up death metal.” The band features members of Grinkai, The Seventh Circle, and CassoVita.
Albuquerque’s The Conjuring play a combination of thrash and traditional metal. The band counts as influences Savatage, Death, and Slayer.
Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
