Set in the American Old West, The Lone Ranger recounts the exploits of the masked vigilante known as The Lone Ranger and Tonto, a Comanche Indian who narrates the tale. When justice fails, John Reid (donning a mask to protect his identity and become The Lone Ranger) and Tonto team up to seek vengeance. John wants outlaw Butch Cavendish and his gang to pay for the murder of his Texas Ranger brother Dan and his band of Rangers, plus the kidnapping of Dan’s wife and son. Tonto’s tribe was brutally murdered by Cavendish and the unscrupulous railroad tycoon Latham Cole to keep the location of a silver mine secret. Assisted by the brothel madam Red Harrington, the two unlikely heroes work together and uncover a larger scheme by Cavendish and Cole, joined by the corrupt United States Cavalry Captain Jay Fuller. They plan to wipe out the Comanches and use the mined silver to take complete control of the Transcontinental Railroad and gain more power. In a runaway train full of gunfights and epic surprises, good and evil face an explosive ultimate showdown.

The DVD and Blu-ray feature a blooper reel. Exclusive to Blu-ray is a deleted scene and three featurettes. In “Riding the Rails of The Lone Ranger,” see the incredible effort director Gore Verbinski put into the production of the movie, where he had a five mile oval track built along with multiple engines and cars. In “Armie’s Western Road Trip,” Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) takes viewers on a tour of the scenic locations the production shot in as we see and learn more about the amazing places he went to become The Lone Ranger. And in “Becoming A Cowboy,” before the cast began shooting the film, they had to go to boot camp to learn how to shoot a gun...and ride a horse -- experiencing what their characters would really be living like in the Wild West.
