There have always been the cops that are idolized and then there are The Other Guys. NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and PK Highsmith are the local New York City heroes on the front page of newspapers, while in the background are Detectives Allen Gamble and Terry Hoitz. Gamble prefers to shuffle paperwork behind the desk and his partner Hoitz is disgruntled that he is trapped with Gamble after accidentally shooting Derek Jeter.

Unpopular as Gamble and Hoitz are, every cop has their day. When Danson and Highsmith meet an unforeseen end, an opportunity arises for Gamble and Hoitz. An investigation into a simple scaffolding permit violation leads them to a bigger cover up by troubled Wall Street investor David Ershon that may put the entire NYPD retirement fund at risk.

Now Gamble and Hoitz must become the Danson and Highsmith they never were and get to the bottom of things quickly if they want to show the NYPD that they have the right stuff to proudly carry the badge and finally earn the respect of their fellow brothers in blue.
