The body of a mom was found in the trunk of her Mitsubishi Eclipse, and now the search for Ebony Jackson-Shelton is over. The mom had been missing since last Thursday, and her baby had been found safe in an apartment Friday morning. Jan. 9 KPLR shared the most recent details on this sad case.
Ebony Jackson-Shelton was last heard from last Thursday, and Tuesday night the body of this mom was found in the trunk of her white Mitsubishi Eclipse. Police indicate there had been some trauma to the body, and police are now trying to determine who had spent time with her before she died. Jackson was living in Oklahoma but had gone to East St. Louis to visit friends. She was expected by a cousin in St. John, but she never arrived. Jackson's body was found after police got a warrant to activate her car's GPS and located the vehicle.
KSDK notes that Jackson-Shelton, 30, was first suspected of abandoning her 3-month-old baby after he was found in a Breckenridge Hills apartment building hallway. The infant is in the care of child services while the boy's paternity is established. At this time police are not commenting on the condition of Jackson-Shelton's body, and it seems there is little known about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or death. Anyone with information related to the baby's abandonment or the situation involving the body of the mom found in the trunk should contact the St. Louis Crimestoppers.
