DEBUT PICTURE AND POSTER FOR THE MONK (Photos)

Do you guys remember the funky frenchman from the Ocean’s movies? Well his name is Vincent Cassel and he has a pretty big filmography on Imdb which means he is always doing something. Well his latest role is that of Brother Ambrosio in the supernatural thriller The Monk based of the Matthew G Lewis Gothic novel.

No word yet on the a US release date but the french film has a debut international trailer and I have it for you here with a few pictures and movie poster.

“The Monk is about Brother Ambrosio (Cassel) abandoned at birth at the gates of a Capuchin monastery in Madrid, raised by the friars, grows up into a preacher admired far and wide for his fervor. Ambrosio is feared for his righteousness and believes he is immune from temptation – until the arrival of a mysterious apprentice undermines his convictions and leads him down a dangerous path of sin, corruption and murder.”

I don’t really know what's so supernatural about this but the trailer showcase Gothic imagery that falls right along with the feel of the novel. The Monk is directed by Dominik Moll and stars Vincent Cassel, Déborah François, Joséphine Japy, Sergi Lopez, Catherine Mouchet, Jordi Dauder, Geraldine Chaplin, Roxane Duran, Frédéric Noaille, Javivi Gil Valle, Pierre-Félix Gravière, and Martine Vandeville.
