The new economy-priced Norwegian airline that goes simply by “Norwegian” is now off and flying from Los Angeles to Scandinavia much to the delight of frequent flyers such as Christine and her husband and three sons who make frequent flights between LA and Denmark. “This is fantastic,” the gorgeous blonde said, “It cost so much less than we’ve been paying for the family.”
The carrier took off with lots of hoopla last week as it made its first ever flights from Los Angeles Stockholm and Copenhagen that kicked off what will be 20 weekly flights between the U.S and Scandinavia. It was quite a production at the airport attended by company CEO Bjorn Kjos who said, ”We are very happy that our new routes between Los Angeles and Scandinavia have commenced. The traveling public in the U.S. deserves inexpensive fares and flexible tickets to Europe.”
The airline exec added that “The transatlantic market has for too long been dominated by a few large airlines offering unreasonably high fares and restricted ticket flexibility.” “Our brand new 787 Dreamliners offer passengers an unprecedented in-flight experience with better, more comfortable cabin air, larger windows and pleasant lighting, which reduces traditional jet lag symptoms.”
Gina Marie Lindsey, Los Angeles World Airports executive director welcomed Norwegian saying, “We are honored Norwegian Air Shuttle chose Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as its west coast debut and using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner that will greatly enhance the passenger experience, the route between Los Angeles and Scandinavia will strengthen business, tourism, and cultural ties with one of the most desirable regions in Europe, while providing connecting service to additional destinations.”
Norwegian fares are as low as $298 one way. The Flight schedule between LAX and Scandinavia goes like this:
- Los Angeles - Stockholm – twice a week to Stockholm (ARN), on Saturdays and Tuesdays. On April 30, the number of weekly flights increases to three – with departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Los Angeles – Copenhagen twice a week to Copenhagen (CPH), on Sundays and Wednesdays. From April 29, the number of weekly flights increases to three with departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Los Angeles – Oslo once a week starting June 1
