Debut Author Nicole Flockton Closes out 2012 with a Bang! And Welcomes 2013 with New Releases
New Author Nicole Flockton sold her first book this year to Crimson Romance. Since then she’s contracted two more works.
We caught up with Nicole, who is furiously pounding away on a keyboard to meet her deadlines. This promising new author was kind enough to answer a few questions:
Your debut novel, a contemporary romance, is titled Masquerade. How would you sum it up in one breath if you had to—absolutely had to!
Amongst the mysterious appeal of a masquerade ball two people connect and their lives will never be the same again.
How cool! Where did this idea come from?
Sitting at home one New Year’s Eve and I had the idea of two girls gate crashing an exclusive New Years Eve ball. That idea evolved into Masquerade and Sophie had a legitimate invite to the ball!
Without prying too much, can you tell us about any more projects that you may have planned?
Yes, I have finished writing a story for Dawn who appears in Masquerade and I also plan to write a story for Sophie’s best friend Phoebe. In addition to that I have a new release coming out on 1st February with Escape Publishing called “Bound by Her Ring”. It’s another contemporary romance but the hero is way more Alpha in this story than in Masquerade. It’s a story of revenge and reunion.
Oh! This means no one has to give up their favorite characters just yet. Very exciting. I’m sure everyone will be curious about Masquerade. Here’s a little bit more than a line of this exciting book with a captivating cover!

When he meets a masked Sophie at the ball, she fires desires in him he thought long dead. He spends a wonderful night with her, but wakes up alone.
The next time the two meet, it’s in the high pressure world of Emergency Room medicine where they must work side by side. While they deal with the stresses of the Emergency ward, they endeavor to keep their feelings for each other on a professional nature. When the desire that pushed them together that one night flares to life again, can they ignore them or will their one night together have consequences neither of them planned on?

On my very first school report my teacher said 'Nicole likes to tell her own stories'.
It wasn't until after the birth of my daughter and after having fun on the community board of eharlequin.com that I finally decided to take the plunge and write a book.
I joined the fabulous Romance Writers of Australia and eventually linked up with a great group of girls and we formed "WINKGirls" an invaluable critique group.
The stories I write are contemporary romances with either a medical setting or in the boardrooms of high powered business. I enjoy taking two characters and creating unique situations for them.
Apart from writing I'm busy looking after my very own hero - my wonderfully supportive husband, and my two fabulous kids. I also enjoy watching any and all sports and, of course, reading.
