Debbie Ford dies: Self-help author dead at 57, loses battle with cancer

The search term, “Debbie Ford dies” became a trending search topic this week and has many readers of the talented author paying their respects, as ABC Local News reported this Tuesday, Feb. 19, that “The Dark Side of the Light Chasers” self-help book writer has passed away in San Diego. Debbie Ford had been fighting a long battle with cancer. She was 57.

A spokeswoman for the family reported this week that Debbie Ford, author of the hit self-help book, “The Dark Side of the Light Chasers,” died this Sunday peacefully in her home.

Arielle, Debbie’s sister, commented in an official statement that her sister wanted to help her readers “break free from their emotional baggage … and overcome their fear.”

With the search term “Debbie Ford dies” bringing a renewed interest in the talented author’s works, Ford went on to write eight additional books, hosted TV shows on self-help, and described her own life battles, including personal struggles, cancer, divorce, and drug addiction.

Debbie Ford is survived as well by her brother, mother, and son.
