Featured in the "Dimir Dementia" intro pack, Deathcult Rogue is one of the newest hybrid cards from Wizards of the Coast's latest expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Gatecrash."
Deathcult Rogue - 1 [U/B][U/B]
Creature - Human Rogue (Common)
Deathcult Rogue can't be blocked except by Rogues.
"The hussars can't catch him, and he evades our traps with ease. I fear he walks unseen even in the halls of New Prahv."
-Arrester Lavinia, Tenth Precinct
2/2
If you're planning on drafting a Dimir deck, then you'll want to snatch up as many copies of Deathcult Rogue as you can. With just nine Rogue creatures in the set and one of them a rare (Ogre Slumlord), there's a good chance your Deathcult Rogue will sneak past your opponent's blockers. That makes it a prime target for you to encode your Cipher spells like Undercity Plague or Call of the Nightwing onto.
Deathcult Rogue can be trumped by Balustrade Spy, however its aggressive mana cost arguably makes it a better pick should you find both in the same booster pack of a draft. Deathcult Rogue's low toughness of two also leaves it particularly susceptible to being the victim of a Mugging.
How will you use Deathcult Rogue?
