Death row dogs bond through metal kennel doors, desperately need to be rescued

Behind the cold, metal doors of their kennel runs at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif., Zeus and Allen are just two "ordinary" pit bulls who do not have a home.

But these dogs have caught the eye, and captured the heart of, a volunteer at the facility - a woman who desperately hopes that the dogs can somehow beat the formidable odds which are stacked against them.

The volunteer emailed:

I fell in love with 2 pitbulls who - while they didn't come into the shelter together - have formed an amazing friendship through the bars.

She added:

Unfortunately - as is the fate with so many pitbulls in LA shelters - their time is up. They need to find an adopter/foster/rescue group to take them ASAP. It's important to note - they do NOT need to be rescued or adopted together. (As they didn't come into the shelter together.)

They are both so young - and have so much love to give - it would just break my heart to have their lives cut so short. I have also raised over $150 for EACH of them (so over $300 total) - towards a reputable rescue group who will take them.

Both dogs have been at the facility for over a month - with no interest. The odds of them finding someone who is willing to give them a life-saving chance...slim.

Please take a moment to help Zeus and Allen have a shot at walking out of this facility alive. Without the help of strangers, they will likely never have the opportunity to live out their life.
