Money will be raised for Dearborn's animal shelter when putters take the course tomorrow at the Midway Sports and Entertainment, 22381 Van Born Road in Taylor.

The Pause for Paws Club at Dearborn High School is sponsoring the fundraiser, which is donating the $3 per-person fee for each game of putt putt played between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday to Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Maddison Moore, who said she started volunteering for Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter at the earliest age allowed (age 12), added that upon reaching high school, “I decided to start the Pause for Paws Club.” Since then, she said, the club has been constantly thinking up projects to help the animal shelter.

“It's been a lot of fun working with the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter,” Moore said. “And I've found great people to work with.”

All proceeds from the May 23 “Putt Putt For Paws” fundraiser will go toward the general expenses of the animal shelter, according to Moore. Anyone wishing further information is advised to call the shelter at (313) 943-2697.
