Dear Little Rosita is Blind in One Eye

The following article is part of an ongoing effort to help homeless dogs in and around Toronto/Hamilton area find suitable and loving homes. Currently, the need is great but the homes are few. Your help is desperately needed.

AL-ONE Dog Rescue of Toronto, Ontario would like to tell you about a sweet senior female Shih Tzu named Rosita.

This little princess is approximately 10 years old and weighs around 15 lbs. Rosita can only see with one eye so you would need to get close to her to call her so she can follow you. According to rescue staff, she walks better without a leash but does so at her own pace. She will stop here and there along the way.

It is important that Rosita not be left unattended, as she is liable to wander off. She needs a calm and relaxing environment, preferably with only adults. It is also vital that a new person in her life is patient and has the time to dedicate to her well being.

Her one eye needs to be cleaned daily. She also needs skin lotion for allergies. Although she is missing many teeth, she can still eat dry food without a problem. Rosita knows to do her business in the back yard and is well behaved when inside the house.

She is house trained, spayed, up-to-date on her routine shots, heartworm tested and micro-chipped. Currently, she is in the care of a rescue organization in Houston, Texas but will be transported to Ontario if the right family awaits her arrival. AL-ONE Dog Rescue will provide a potential owner with daily videos, phone chats and any other information that is needed.

If you think Rosita might be a happy fit in your home, please visit rescuedoglist.com to submit an adoption application online. To learn more about Rosita email alr.one.2007@gmail.com and put ‘Pet Inquiry: Rosita PFId#24844981’ in the subject line. You can also call 713.294.8020.

AL-ONE Dog Rescue rescues, fosters and places dogs and cats found on the streets of impoverished neighborhoods in the Houston area as well as those living in poor conditions due to neglect and/or abuse. It is a non-profit organization run by volunteers who foster animals in their homes.
