Deana Martin Brings Musical Sleigh Ride To The Smith Center

Deana Martin will be returning to the Cabaret Jazz venue at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas to present her annual Christmas Show Dec. 20-22. Martin will take the audience on a musical sleigh ride filled with classic yuletide tunes and songs honoring her legendary father, Dean Martin, and his pals Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Martin’s fourth album “Destination Moon” that’s she’s been working on seriously for some time was released in September featuring 10 classic tunes and four new songs. With Cole Porter’s song “True Love,” Martin shares the spotlight in a duet with her father Dean Martin and his rare voice. This experience is also in her shows. The four new songs she showcases include the world debut of concert favorites “Read Between The Lines,” “Where Did You Learn To Love Like That” written by L. Russell Brown who co-wrote “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree,” “Paradise” and “Stuck In A Dream With Me.”

For her holiday show at The Smith Center, Martin will feature some new stories, show videos, appear with six musicians, and sing songs from her new album and Christmas classics from her “White Christmas” album that was released in 2011.

Martin achieved early success in her career in films, theater and television, then quickly added to her repertoire — recording artist, best-selling author for her memoir “Memories Are Made Of This,” nationally syndicated radio host, licensed pilot, and entrepreneur. A movie about her life starring Jennifer Love Hewitt is still in the works and being written by Bonnie Hunt. “We’re not in a hurry,” said Martin, “Because it’s most important to get it right.” And the search for who should play her dad is still the big question.

Tickets for her Smith Center performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday range from $37 to $59; call 702-749-2000.
