The Iron Angels Motorcycle Rally had an impressive turnout despite the cold weather. Dean Seltzer & The Redneck Mothers headlined the show to a pretty appreciative crowd. Beads were thrown, free t-shirts and CD’s as the music played on to the rowdy fans. The band was mobbed (in a good way) at the merchandise table and even asked back onstage for an encore performance. I will always remember this night as the first time I have seen Dean Seltzer breathe fire too!
Dean Seltzer & The Redneck Mothers are based out of Austin, TX and have performed as far away as France. “Lady Luck” (Smith Entertainment) is the band’s latest release. I have it and have enjoyed the tunes on the CD. The songs are honest. The slower ballads paint life in the painful, but beautiful way it is and the faster songs are meant to get you up and moving to the music.
In one of my favorite songs the "Beatle Song", he asks in a lyric "How the hell does life go on?". I think I have the answer. Life goes on when people find music that means something to them and it carries them through. Whether that's found in a traditional type song...or a not so traditional one... At the rally, I bought the single CD for a song called “Lovin’ You”. It’s not a typical radio friendly song…more likely the lyrics were written after a few beers, but it’s a signature songand another favorite.
Dean Seltzer has been featured in the Best In Texas Music Magazine, performed on the his syndicated Fox News channel, and even has July 25, 2010 declared as “Dean Seltzer Day” in Galveston, TX by VIP Apparel. Maybe you haven't heard of Dean Seltzer & The Redneck Mothers yet in your town, but you will.
Dean Seltzer & The Redneck Mothers are David Watkins (guitar, vocals), Adrian Flores (drums), Andy Garcia (bass) and of course Dean Seltzer (vocals, acoustic guitar). The future is wide open for them. Check out their website now!
