Deal of the Day: McDonald's Dollar Day Sept. 19 at Dickerson Park Zoo
Saturday, Sept. 19, everyone gets into the zoo for $1. gates are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission to Dickerson Park Zoo will be $1 for all ages.
Early risers get even more of a bargain: the first 500 kids (ages 12 and younger) to complete a scavenger hunt will receive a coupon for an ice cream treat from a participating McDonald's restaurant. The zoo will also offer $1 specials on soft drinks and popcorn.
Ronald McDonald will be there for a meet and greet and is offering tours of the Tooth Truck, 9 a.m. to noon. Dickerson Park Zoo is offering $1 face painting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m and a $1-a-ride inflatable bounce, open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
McDonald's Dollar Day events include live Taekwondo demonstrations presented by the National Progressive Taekwondo Association, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
McDonald's Dollar Day is presented by Dickerson Park Zoo, Springfield-Greene County Park Board, McDonald's and Alice 95.5FM.
Dickerson Park Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission fees are $7 for adults and teenagers, $5 for seniors age 60 and older, $5 for children ages 3-12 and free for children age 2 and younger. Friends of the Zoo members are admitted free; FOZ memberships are $65 for an annual pass. For information about zoo events, visit www.dickersonparkzoo.org or call 417-864-1800.
