'Deadpool' test footage leaks online

Fans of the Merc with a mouth, Deadpool, have been clamoring for a solo film ever since his mouth was literally sewn shut in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” today they got a taste of how fun “Deadpool” could be.

Test Footage of the long-gestated project leaked online earlier today. Deadpool creator, Rob Liefield, via Twitter, confirmed Legitimacy of the footage.

The leaked CG test footage features Ryan Reynolds’ (“R.I.P.D.) voice as the wise-cracking mercenary breaking the fourth wall, killing bad guys, and singing “Holla Back Girl”—everything you would want from a Deadpool film.

The film has been in development for quite some time, Reynolds portrayed the character in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and has been just as enthusiastic about a solo film as fans of the anti-hero.

In 2011, Tim Miller boarded the project to direct with a script from “Zombieland” screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Warnick—news since then on the project has been relatively quiet, however in a 2013 interview with Clevver Movies Miller stated that they “just need that elusive green light.”

Deadpool is probably the hardest character to adapt in the history of comics due to the fact he constantly breaks the fourth wall and is all about himself. Judging from the CG test footage, Miller and Reynolds haves cracked the Da Vinci code that is a Deadpool film.

Fox, the studio that owns the rights to the film, has since taken down the test footage—the leak may put the pressure on the studio to a Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds a reality.

We will all have to wait and see if reaction to this leaked test footage gives “Deadpool” the green light he needs to wreak havoc on the big screen.
