Deadman Collection/Neal Adams
I was looking for something to write on today that didn’t have the words “spider” or “mouse” in it. What I found was from Variety.com:
Danish helmer Nikolaj Arcel is on tap to bring "Deadman" to life for Warner Bros. with Guillermo del Toro, Angry Films' Don Murphy and Murphy's partner Susan Montford producing the DC Comics adaptation.
Arcel is a Danish director and writer who is mostly unknown in the US, but he has had some success internationally with films such as De fortabte sjæles ø, or The Island of Lost Souls.
Deadman is the story of Boston Brand, an acrobat who is murdered during his act in costume and make-up. His spirit is given the ability to possess any person in his quest to find and bring his murderer to justice.
As with any announcement of this sort, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt until production starts.
But in a case of art imitating art imitating art, it may help the studio heads to remember that there was a very successful move about 20 years ago with a very similar premise. It was called Ghost.
Who bought Marvel Comics yesterday?
