Deadline for the Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree in Burbank

Thanks to the show “Who Do You Think You Are” and ancestral discovery like Ellen DeGeneres being Kate Middleton’s cousin, genealogy is becoming very hip these days. So there will no doubt be a lot more applicants for this year’s Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree in Burbank, California.

One lucky student will be chosen as the recipient of the Suzanne Winsor Freeman Memorial Grant for Student Genealogists, which gives them free access to this June’s seminar and $500 to apply to expenses to attend the conference.

The Jamboree features demonstrations, workshops and a slate of guest speakers. Last year’s event welcomed over 1,700 genealogists. The conference is sponsored by The Southern California Genealogical Society, whose mission is to “foster interest in family history and genealogy, preserve genealogical materials and provide instruction in accepted and effective research techniques.”
