A 3-year-old girl pronounced clinically dead moved during her funeral Sunday, providing proof that she was in fact not in any way deceased and sending a wave of shock through the gathered mourners. A video said to be of the incident captured the moment when the child was lifted from the casket; it has been uploaded to YouTube.
The Independent reported July 14 that mourners in the province of Aurora in the Phillipines were suddenly alerted to activity around the coffin of a 3-year-old toddler who had taken ill with a severe fever and had passed away, according to a local physician and clinic personnel where she was being treated.
Local police arrived later to verify the incident.
“The attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead,” the Aurora police chief told the Phillipine Star.
But the toddler was far from dead...
A neighbor at the funeral opened the casket and was set to arrange the child's body for viewing when the little girl's head moved. The YouTube video of the incident (which has gone viral) shows the child being picked up out of the coffin and rushed from the room. Attendees at the funeral look on in disbelief.
The video has garnered over 8.3 million views to date since it was posted July 13.
The finding of a pulse quickly confirmed that the toddler was indeed alive and was given water. She was then taken to a nearby clinic.
Aurora Police reported that the 3-year-old was in a comatose state after being removed to her home. The family was in consultation with the nearby hospital as to her care.
The "dead" seem to wake up on occasion, such as when 78-year-old Walter Williams woke up in body bag in a Mississippi funeral home in March, providing a bit of a scare to the attending funeral home workers when the bag began to move. Another child, a one-month-old baby woke up in a China funeral parlor in November just in time to keep from being cremated alive.
