Electronic Arts has just released the launch trailer for the third installment of its Sci-Fi space horror series Dead Space. This promotional trailer, which combines live-action, CGI and in-game footage, sets Isaac on a desolate and frozen world as he attempts to uncover the truth behind the Necromorph plague and save humanity.
Dead Space 3 is unique in that it is the first title in the series to allow co-op play. Previous games maintained an eerie sense of horror and isolation as Isaac explored the infested ruins of derelict ships. While there were other characters Isaac interacted with in both games, he was very much lone as he fought the grotesque monstrosities that haunted the ruins of Dead Space.
This time around, players are introduced to co-op partner John Carver, who can players can use to join up with Isaac seamlessly using a drop-in-drop-out function between checkpoints. Co-op play will also add story and gameplay elements not available in solo play.
