The trailer (via IGN) follows mechanic Nick Ramos fleeing the undead through the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California to avoid the zombie horde. An unfortunate car wreck puts him in a tight spot until he meets his new best friend along with duct tape, a sledge hammer and a saw. The four minute video builds to a finale with one of the most over-the-top vehicles seen in a medium known for over-the-top vehicles.
Dead Rising 3 is set 10 years after the events of Dead Rising 2 with Capcom promising an even larger open world than the first two games combined. The ability to craft outlandish weapons from various parts returns and players will be able to unlock new weapons as they discover blueprints.
The game will make use of both the Kinect sensor and SmartGlass with Xbox One. The sensor will be able to hear the player speak or taunt enemies to attract zombies, for example, while SmartGlass can be used to call in airstrikes, drone support, or area-wide flares to draw zombie attention.
Dead Rising 3 is an exclusive launch title for the Xbox One despite being developed by Capcom. Microsoft is the publisher so it seems unlikely that it will ever be ported to the PS4.
