Capcom has been mum on the latest adventure of zombie-slaying photographer Frank West and the "Dead Rising" franchise. That could change soon after eagle-eyed industry watchers Sunday spotted a mention of a third entry in the franchise on the LinkedIn resume of a rigging supervisor at Blur animation studio.
The studio is most famous for its CG trailers of video games such as "Batman Arkham City," "Star Wars The Old Republic" and "Star Wars The Force Unleashed." The resume listing stated the supervisor worked on in-game cinematics for the unannounced game. "Dead Rising" has always had high-quality cutscenes, but nothing to the level of Blur's work.
"Dead Rising 3" has been rumored ever since "Dead Rising 2: Off the Record" was released in 2011. Japanese publisher Capcom has yet to comment on the future of the franchise, but was so pleased with the sales of the franchise's second entry that it bought Canadian developer Blue Castle Games following the launch.
If "Dead Rising 3" is indeed coming, it could be positioned as a next-gen title, much like the original game was back in 2006.
