Microsoft Studios, the publisher behind the upcoming “Dead Rising 3” for Xbox One, has released the two previous Xbox 360 games in the “Dead Rising” series for free to Xbox Live Gold members. According to a report by the Official Xbox Magazine on Aug. 16, subscribers of the premium service can now download “Dead Rising 2” and “Dead Rising 2: Case Zero” at no additional costs.
“Dead Rising 2” was released for the Xbox 360 on Sept. 28, 2010 in North America. It also came out for the Playstation 3 on the same day as well as the PC platform a few days later. The second game in the series feature a new character and setting when compared to the original title.
“Dead Rising 2: Case Zero” is a downloadable title that takes place before “Dead Rising 2.” The expansion pack was actually released before the main game as it came out exclusively for the Xbox 360 through the Xbox Live Marketplace digital store on Aug. 21, 2010.
While “Dead Rising 2” and “Dead Rising 2: Case Zero” were published by Capcom, the upcoming “Dead Rising 3” will be published by Microsoft Studios. The sequel will once again feature a brand new character and location.
“Dead Rising 3” is expected to be a launch title for the Xbox One when the next-generation system is made available this November.
