‘Dead Rising 3’ features procedurally generated zombies for unique undead looks (Photos)

In past entries of the Dead Rising franchise, the hordes of the undead were made up of similar zombie faces as there were a limited number of zombie models which were duplicated in order to save memory. One way that Dead Rising 3 will prove that it is a next-generation title is that each of the game’s undead will have a distinct and unique look as reported by Joystiq on Sept 30.

It was revealed that that Capcom Vancouver’s upcoming Xbox One entry will load each zombie into the game through a procedurally generated process after Capcom’s Mike Jones recently spoke with CVG. This will make each member of the game’s growing undead horde appear different from one another as different aspects of each zombie’s appearance will be randomly chosen. This will change their clothing, hair, textures, and even if they have missing limbs or other gruesome accents.

Considering the fact that Dead Rising 3 promises to populate the game's world with more zombies than what fans are accustomed to seeing inside past entries of the series, the idea that each individual zombie will be unlike any other is an impressive feat.

Dead Rising 3 releases as an Xbox One launch exclusive in November.
