Dead on: Give skin a healthy glow

Do you exfoliate? Do you wash your face? Do you already have great skin?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, read on about my interview with Ellen Sackoff, owner and founder of Cornelia International LLC, who
gave me great information on the importance of exfoliating, for BOTH women and
men.

It’s nice to have clean skin free from blemishes and that certain glow. Many
products help you achieve that look. However, if you do not exfoliate your skin,
even the most expensive facial products will not help you.

WHAT IS EXFOLIATING AND WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS?
Exfoliating is cleaning your face to rid it of dead skin and dirt that fills up your
pores over time. It is good for everyone to exfoliate “at least once a week – but it
should be twice.” Exfoliating is different from just washing your face in the morning.
Part of the exfoliation process is opening up your pores. Do this by placing a
lukewarm washcloth on your face for one to two minutes. Once your pores are
open, exfoliating will help you clear out dirt and debris that enter your pores on a
daily basis. Exfoliating too much, however, thins your skin and makes it weak. If
your pores are clogged with dirt, even the most expensive anti-aging or cleansing
brands won’t work because they will only hit the surface. There are also certain
ingredients to look for to achieve a truly clean and radiant face.

INGREDIENTS TO LOOK FOR
Ellen suggests that since the inside of our bodies is like an aquarium, we need to
use products that fit our bodies. A great natural ingredient to look for is laminaria
(brown sea algae). This ingredient helps decrease wrinkles in our faces as well as
hydrating our skin. Other natural ingredients to look for that have similar effects
are papaya and pumpkin. Do not buy products with sulfates because they dry your
skin. The last thing you want is dry skin because you will have more dead skin cells
penetrating your pores, and you won’t have that certain glow or younger look.

If you are unable to find a Cornelia Spa near you, Cornelia products can be
purchased online at http://www.cornelia.com/shop/. They have several products
for not just your face, but for your entire body. Make sure you exfoliate at least
once, if not twice a week. Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells, grease, and other
impurities from your face. Using certain ingredients while exfoliating also helps to
decrease deep wrinkles and makes your skin more vibrant. Remember to exfoliate,
exfoliate, and exfoliate!
